Wickenden Farm
Breathing new life into disused farm buildings with crafted restoration and adaptive reuse.

Reclaimed Heritage, Rural Renewal
Wickenden Farm is a phased project to repurpose, restore, and extend a collection of disused outbuildings on a working family farm in Sharpthorne, West Sussex. Many of the structures had fallen into disrepair—some poorly altered over time, others built for temporary use but worth salvaging. Our approach balances sensitive repair with carefully considered modern interventions, ensuring the farmstead once again serves both practical and domestic needs.
New uses include converting a former stable into guest accommodation, extending a workspace for creative practice, and transforming a barn to house a classic car collection. Between these buildings, new courtyards and landscaping unify the site, blending everyday farm functions with spaces for family life. Reuse and repair form the heart of the sustainability strategy, with highly insulated new works reducing energy demands and running costs. The result is a rural place of continuity and renewal, where old buildings gain purpose for the generations ahead.
