In London, Jason Good Architecture Revives a Dilapidated Cottage

Wimbledon Village House was recently featured in NUVO Magazine, highlighting the careful transformation of a dilapidated 1980s cottage into a refined and enduring home. Set within its original walled footprint, the new two-bedroom house is shaped by natural light, crafted materials and a calm, L-shaped plan that creates sheltered courtyards and moments of retreat.

The exterior pairs handmade brick with corrugated copper to establish a warm, characterful presence that will age gracefully in its Arts and Crafts neighbourhood. Inside, wide oak panels, walnut baths and an unfitted stone kitchen continue this material narrative with simplicity and depth. The cylindrical “top hat” roof form introduces an oculus for light and passive ventilation, anchoring the home’s quiet clarity.

We’re pleased to share NUVO’s full feature, which explores the project's ideas and how the architecture supports thoughtful, modern living.
